The Mecklenburg Amateur Radio Society is a large, general purpose club, serving members in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties in North and South Carolina. MARS is a Special Service Club affiliated with the ARRL.
Our club's regular monthly meeting is held on the last Tuesday of each month (except December) beginning at 7:30pm, at East Baptist Church, 6850 Monroe Rd (next to East Mecklenburg High School, near Conference Drive). All visitors are Welcome.
MARS also hosts an Annual Hamfest at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center the first full Friday & Saturday of March. Please see http://www.charlottehamfest.org for more information.
You can find us on the air on several repeaters, including 146.94 MHz - (PL 118.8), 145.29 MHz - (PL 118.8), 145.23 MHz - (PL 118.8), 224.40 - (No PL Tone), and 444.60 + (PL 118.8). We hold our Metrolina 2 Meter Emergency Net at 9:00PM Local time on the 146.94 Repeater, and the Mecklenburg ARES Net on Wednesdays at 7:30PM Local time on 146.94. You can also check into the Piedmont Spotter Group net each night on the 145.23 Repeater at 8:00PM.
