GO TO www.piphiomegas.org
DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO APRIL 18, 2018
Each year Pi Phi chapter of our fraternity awards scholarships to deserving students who need financial support to pursue higher education. Our fraternity, Omega Psi Phi, which was founded on Nov. 17, 1911, and has now grown to 750 chapters throughout the world. Our fraternity was founded on 4 Cardinal Principles: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Scholarship, and since scholarship is one of our cardinal principles, we seek to advance education by assisting students to pursue education beyond high school. Although any student that needs financial assistance is eligible for consideration, we are particularly interested in assisting students who are underrepresented in college attendance rates. The basic scholarship eligibility requirements are as follows:
To be eligible for financial assistance, an applicant must fully complete and submit a Pi Phi Chapter Scholarship Application, providing all required information.
High school graduates who are applying for the first time should show proof of acceptance from an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. This includes community colleges, technical institutions, trade/vocational schools, and four-year degree granting institutions.
A recipient must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student as defined as a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours or nine (9) quarter hours.
Although a student may apply for a renewal scholarship, scholarships are awarded for one academic year. Priority will be given to first-time applicants.
Students awarded scholarships are eligible to reapply in subsequent years for continued financial assistance. To be awarded additional aid, a student must have a 3.0 average or above on a 4.0 grading system.
We ask that these be duplicated as needed and made available to students who may wish to submit an application. We would greatly appreciate it if you would pass these materials along to the individuals in your school who have responsibility for helping students locate scholarship opportunities. It should be noted that all required material should be submitted in one package and the deadline date is April. 18, 2018. On behalf of our fraternity members, we thank you for your efforts to advance the education of youth in our community.
